Kevin Blair is president and CEO of Pinnacle Financial Partners, leading one of the nation’s fastest-growing and most respected financial services firms.


He served as chairman, CEO and president at Synovus prior to the merger with Pinnacle in 2026.

Under Blair’s leadership, Pinnacle combines the strengths of both firms and sharpens the practices that underpin industry leading team member engagement, client loyalty and sustainable growth. His focus is on fulfilling the company’s purpose—to enable people to reach their full potential—and advancing its vision to be the best financial services firm and the best place to work in the country.


Blair’s broad experience in corporate strategy, business line management, strategic finance and credit risk management, combined with his strong leadership abilities, has positively impacted the organizations he’s led. He is known for his steady leadership, clarity in moments of change and belief that long-term performance is inseparable from strong values. Blair champions a people-first culture, thoughtful risk management and community impact as competitive advantages.


Blair was named president and CEO of Synovus in 2021 and appointed chairman in 2023. He previously served as Synovus’ executive vice president and chief financial officer and senior executive vice president, chief operating officer since joining the company in 2016.


Throughout his extensive banking career, Blair served in numerous leadership roles with SunTrust, including corporate treasurer, head of commercial specialization, and chairman, president and CEO of the Georgia/North Florida region. He started his banking career as a strategic planning analyst with Signet Bank in 1995.


Blair sits on the boards of United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Historical Society and Georgia Research Alliance. He also serves as vice chairman of the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America.


He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University and an MBA from George Washington University.
