Richard (Rick) D. Callicutt, II
Chairman of the Carolinas, Virginia and National Capital Regions
Rick Callicutt is Pinnacle’s chairman of the Carolinas, Virginia and National Capital regions. Before Pinnacle’s acquisition of BNC Bancorp in 2017, he was president and chief executive officer of BNC Bancorp and Bank of North Carolina.
Callicutt began his career in banking with Wachovia Bank and First Union National Bank, where he served in various leadership roles. He left to start Bank of North Carolina in 1991 as senior lender of the de novo bank, as well as compliance officer, chief credit officer and chief operating officer before becoming president and CEO in June 2013. While at BNC, Callicutt was instrumental in negotiating and completing 18 bank transactions.
Callicutt earned his bachelor’s degree in business from High Point University, where he is an active member of the board of trustees. He has served as chairman of the North Carolina Bankers Association, as well as on the board of trustees of the North Carolina School of Banking. Callicutt has served in various community organizations including the United Way, Salvation Army and the Bud Kivett Charity Golf Tournament.
Callicutt resides in High Point, North Carolina.
