Shellie Creson

Chief Risk Officer

Shellie Creson is chief risk officer for Pinnacle Financial Partners.


She is responsible for leading the firm’s enterprise risk management programs and related activities. She also leads corporate risk management strategy while continuing to transform, strengthen and sustain the firm’s risk culture. Creson has oversight of key areas such as compliance, financial crimes and operational and third-party risk management.


Prior to her current role, Creson was the chief risk officer at Synovus, executive vice president and chief audit executive at Fifth Third Bank and held leadership positions at Regions Financial in strategic and corporate planning, audit and finance.


Creson chairs the Nashville advisory board for Big Table, sits on the AID Atlanta Community Board and is an active member of the United Way Tocqueville Society.


Creson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rhodes College and is a certified public accountant, certified internal auditor and certified enterprise risk professional.
