Tim E. Bentsen

Lead Director*

Tim E. Bentsen is a former audit partner and practice leader of KPMG, a U.S. based global audit, tax and advisory services firm, a position he retired from in 2012. Over his 37 years with KPMG, he served as an audit partner for numerous banks and other financial services companies and served in a variety of leadership roles, including Southeast Area Managing Partner and Atlanta office Managing Partner. Bentsen also served on national leadership teams for the financial services and audit practice as well as on the firm’s national Operations Committee.

Bentsen has been a frequent speaker on corporate governance matters across the country and served in a leadership role for KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute. Previously, he served as a member of the board of directors, chair of the audit committee, and member of the finance committee of CatchMark Timber Trust, Inc., a public timberland real estate investment company.

Bentsen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University. He practiced as a certified public accountant for 40 years. He is Pinnacle's Lead Director and the Chair of our Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. Bentsen’s extensive audit and accounting experience in the financial services industry coupled with his corporate governance, risk management and financial acumen enhances the Board’s knowledge in these areas.
